Travel Checklist
Useful Items in your hand luggage:
- Passports and all visas
- Foreign currency/travellers' cheques
- Snacks / Chocolates
- Itinerary for all your travel arrangements
- Books / magazines for the beach - or any guide books for exploring
- Airline tickets and hotel documentation
- Camera, mobile phone / MP3 players
- Sweatshirt / jumper (could get cold in aircrafts for overnight flights)
- Credit cards and if necessary driving license

Travelling with babies:
- Nappies / changing mat
- Baby food
- Nappy cream
- Milk Powder
- Tooth soothers / Comforter

Plan before you travel:
- Ensure that you have relevant medications / vaccinations
- Ensure you or any of your party has valid visa if necessary / have completed ESTA if travelling to North America and that you have at least 6 months validity remaining in your passport.
- Ensure that you and all your party all have EHIC-European Health Insurance Cards, and that all the details are correct, and that the area you are travelling to is on the safe list on the Foreign Commonwealth website. This can be done on through https://www.gov.uk/
- Ensure you have booked taxis to, and from the airport – or booked your car parking at the airport.
- Ensure you have foreign exchange: currency and traveller's cheques.
- Possibly buy a guide book about the area you are visiting.
- Make relevant copies of your travel documents, including passports, driving licences, visa, insurance policies and ensure the copies are kept with a relative or close friend.
- Leave your house keys and contact details abroad with a relative or close friend.
- If you have a house alarm, ensure a trusted neighbour has the details for the alarm company if necessary.
- If possible unplug relevant electrical appliances
- In travelling in winter, turn off the mains water to stop freezing pipes.
- Ensure all windows, and doors are securely locked
